ive got a 94 ranger single cab, manual with a little crappy 4 cyl. engine, i was wondering if anyone knows if you can swap in a straight 6. from what ive been told the mounts are the same but i dont know if it will fit, so if anyone has any info or links that give info i'd really appreciate it

I never have seen a slant 6 put in though...you should consider a v6 from another 94 so that you can get the factory motor mounts and have a much easier install....I think a slant 6 is too long

Keep in mind, changing the engines will require changing almost EVERYTHING under the hood. From the electrical harnesses, to your transmission. Good luck.

Putting in a 5.0 V-8 requires modifying the heater for clearance and either moving the radiator forward or changing to an electric pusher fan.

Since the 6 will be approximately 6-8" longer than the V-8, you should plan on firewall modifications, too.

This COULD be a cool swap, but if you're looking for something bolt-together, you might want to try some other avenues.

If you do decide to persue this, might I recommend relocating the radiator somewhere else (the bed, maybe) and let the engine show through the grill.

I'm available to bounce ideas off of.
