Pros: keep the engine fixed in its place in the engine compartment.

Cons: ... dunno ... because they have them the designers have become complacent and haven't developed some sort ofuntigravitational/force field way to keep the engine it the car. The only one I can think of.

Sorry let me clarify, what i should have said is after market motor mounts, I am looking at get some inserts for my car, but I wonder if there are negative affects of having them in. I dont drag race but I do autox.

More HP, are you sure? But it will get awful shakey and driveline vibrations because the (assuming its polyurethane) rubber is much stiffer than the stock stuff so you will feel it, unadvisable.

heck, if sTiCkeRz can add hp, why cant motor mounts? makes sense to me.

I think the thinking is that the car is not making more HP, it's just that more of the HP produced by the engine is transferred to the tranny.

the engine and tranny are bolted together....motor mounts just happen to hold it in the car, that motor will produce the power its gonna produce regardless of where it is bolted.
