96 Town and Country Wont start~~ Desperate

My 96 T&C will not start. Last week my drivers side drive shaft broke in two. My husband replaced the part with no problems. He took the van for a test drive around the block and half way home the van just died. He tried to restart it, and it will not start. He has replaced the spark plugs, checked all sensors, put in a new coil pack (computer said coil pack was bad), checked all fuses. It cranks, but does not turn over. It is getting fuel, you can smell it. When the battery is about dead, it will spark and try to start. Will not spark when battery is fully charged. A few people have mentioned the PCM may be bad. We have already put 400 dollars into it, and don't have another 300 to put in on a part that I cannot return if that is not the problem. This van is our only vehicle that is accessible for my handicapped daughter so it is imperative we get it running. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.
