All right was drivin my car and the idle was rocketing to 5-6K so i just gonna take it back home and leave it there for the night usually works. But on the way out the check engine light came on and my boost gauge went to zero along with the profec B spec II reading. I hear a ticking now so not sure what is up any help!?

None of those symptoms sound like crankwalk, so don't let 98 gsx scare you. That is crazy that your idle is rocketing so high...VERY odd. All I can think is that maybe something is wrong with your injectors so that they are giving the car fuel freely. I'm not too familiar with idle surge, but it seems like idle surge doesn't get that bad.

Get that code read at Autozone if you can...or if you can get the car to do its blinking check engine light to give you the code numbers, do that. I've never gotten that to work on mine, but if you turn your key to "on,off,on,off,on" within 5 secs. you're supposed to get the CEL to blink the number of the first digit, then the second, etc.

Then you can match codes with your shop manual or the post I wrote for GuitarXGeek. Keep us updated, but this one may need professional help...

i aint trying to scare him.... simple questions :) plus pray anyway... i do... it helps... i dont think you have crank walk anywayz... check the oil filter and lil bs like that make sure EVERYTHING is tight.... check your throttle cable assembly if that came loose then its applying pressure causing your cable to get stuck or w.e...also ont he tickin take off your valve cover and check the rockers and valves...

sounds like your biss could be gone. its the plastic screw on the throttle body that you adjust the idle with. it has a little rubber cap over it but ive only seen a few that still have the cap.

well i finally got to look at the engine in the light and saw that two hoses had come off, one on the wastegate actuator and on the intake manifold...i put them back on, disconnected the battery then reconnected it...when i started it the idle was at 600rpm pretty low, but now my engine has a vibration to it! What could that be from?

I went through and changed out the spark plugs and found the misfiring problem...the number 3 plug was broke at the end so that ended the vibration problems but i am still having idle surging...not as high but near 4 1/2 K. The biss is still there and nothing is on the cable, i can't seem to figure it out!?
