Im installing a Mizer MFS on my 97 Chevy S10,the mizer is a multiple fuel system. It mixes propane with the incoming air.Now to my question the instructions say to connect the MFS to a wire that is hot only when the engine is running. The only wire I can find that is hot only with the engine running is the field wire to the alternator.I connected it to the field wire and the battery light shows up dimly on the dash,I checked voltage with it connected and unconnected both readings were 14.2 volts. The light staying on bugs the crap out of me and Im not sure if it will do any damage to the alternator. Is there any other wires that I could connect to that is only hot when the engine is running. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

run a relay!!!!! you could put it on a toggle. or just hook it up remotely to your key switch. if you don't know how to do that, stop in a a car audio shop and have them hook up the relay. or atleast show you how. that is the safest and simplest way to do it without trashing your alternator.

Hello Morty!

Sorry but I just read this message from you.
What you need to do is look for a Hot wire under the hood.
Easyest is to measure the two wires that are connected to the Ignition Coil.
One of them will read +12VDC as the ignition is turned on.
use that wire to splice into and take current from for your Mizer-MFS.

I assume this is late information but never the less...

Where can one find this Mizer-MFS and what is the going price Morty?

Regards,

Jake
