I have a 1998 Wolfsburg. The radio has worked in the past, and the battery needed charging. After charging, the radio does not work and in fact nothing shows up on the display. Also the right passenger window does not go down. In addition the clock starts on an even hour each time the engine is started. (And not the right hour, btw) Could this be a problem from charging the battery or even a fuse? Any insight anyone could give me would be much appreciated!

Dear Carla,
Definitely check the fuses, because I have had a similar problem and found that it was a blown fuse. From my diagram, it looks like it could be fuse number 22 (10A fuse) and possibly fuse number 6. Fuse number 6 (the one that I'm looking at in my manual) is located above the fuse and relay box, at the very top on the far right side.
Let me know if you need any more help...

idk whats going on now but when u work that out the radio is going to read safe because it thinks it was removed and now it is disabled. get your vin# and the radio's serial number(which is just about as long printed on the right side) and call a vw dealership and give them the info. they will give u a 4 digit code that u enter into your radio to make it work again.

I've seen wierd radio problems after draining/recharging/changing the battery. Sometimes disconnecting for a minute will reset the electrical mishap. Be sure you have the radio code.
