Sup guys, I just got a 'brand new' accord 2 door ex-r 1990 :P I was wondering if this car had some tuning potential. I checked for a supercharger and found nothing on the net, I am actually looking for a turbo and still finding nothing :s I might also go the 'all motor' way, would you suggest that ? Anyway I have about 3000 to spend on it for this summer so any idea how to spend it efficently ? I dont want to lose too much reliability :P so tell me what ya guys think!
Thanks much!

just bought a 91 couple myself and im leaning toward the JDM h22a prelude motor bolts directly and can be found for around 2000. and there are many turbo applications for that motor but it would run u min. 2500. if u need help finding the motor email i know a cuple sites that even sell the front clip for about 400$ more, I just dont wanna go around advertising car sites on here.(h22a 200hp and i believe 165 torque)

H22 is a good way to go, but with install I can almost guarnatee it will cost more than 3,000. I just swapped an H22 into my 91 and ran into a bunch of "little things" that had to be replaced. B4 I swapped the engine I ran an NOS Power shot set up. It was a 75 Shot I believe into the intake. I never ran into problems with it and the stock engine had 150k miles on it. Nitrous is a cheaper, and effective substitute. If I were you that's the way I would go.

ya nitrous is great for racing but if u want a good base motorto build off of and a decent amount of hp all the time and just not for a few seconds then the h22 is your answer. would u midn telling me the problems u ran into with the swap?

Yes I'll tell you about the problems I had. This whole swap process made me smater in the car area. I know little now, but when I did the swap I knew nothing. The first problem was the distributor. In the states for the ludes made between 92-95 we made an internal coil. In Japan they used external, so I had to mod the dis. My motor mounts were all bad and in the 4th gen Accords there is one mount that is very expensive to replace <$250>. Then when the car was done it was running, but not fast. The mechanic said he never did a Honda swap before. So make sure you do some hard core research b4 you trust some one to do your swap. I took the car to Honda, and come to find out the V-tec did not work and a trouble code came up for my 02 sensor. After some research I found out the V-Tec wasn't hooked up. Asked the mech about it and he told me that he used the wiring from the f22 <stock engine> which wasn't V-Tec. Then I found a V-Tec harness at Hasport I took some time off work and found a good shop after a lot of research. My 02 sensor was plugged into the V-Tecand some cooling sensor was plugged into the 02 clip. The new shop straightened the whole thing out in a day. Then after a week of great driving the car acted up again. I thought it was the Tranny, but it was a throtle sensor. Got that fixed the next day I fried my expensive Stinger Alternator <This thing cost a grand and lasted a year> and now everything is in good working order. Accept the AC isn't working and I need a JDM TCU <Tranmission Control Unit>. My car is an Autty and with the JDM TCU it will red line where it should rather than a 6k. This happened throughout a 4 month period. Hope this was informative and hope it helps you if you plan to swap! Good Luck!

Sup guys, I have no doubt that the h22a is a great engine but my Question was : Is there something to do with the stock 2.2 or no ?
Can I get my car fast with it or I absolutly have to do a swap ?

I agree with sentra headers, intake, ehaust, and a cat or punch out your stock cat. To anwser your question sentra you woun't need a external coil dist if the one on the h22 you purchace is good, and if you are going stick you won't need a JDM TCU the TCU is for automatics only
