eclipse rs vs. civic w/b16

who would win, my eclipse rs stick or a 94 civic stick with a b16?

I would have to say the civic would win. It has a DOHC VTEC 1.6L that revs very high. and the civic is lighter.

You stock RS has only 117whp, and that civic may push about that, but it is lighter and more agile, so it will turn quicker than you and accelerate faster.

The eclipse has stock hp of 160 at 4,000 rps.
if the civis only has 117 hp a few pounds wont make a diff

BTW, the stock RS of 2003 has an hp rating of 147 and puts down 117whp. Fact is fact and my dyno does not lie. I dyno'ed 8 different 3G's and that is the number most commonly hit by the stock RS/GS.

And the 00-01 Fed Spec 3G RS/GS' are rated at 154hp. no 3G 4 cylinder has ever been rated for 160hp.

i can't stand it when a newbie comes on here and thinks they know everything. they don't know the difference between rated hp and whp. i think the civic would win though.

oba, it's a 94 civic with a b16 swap. That's not Granny's DOHC VTEC. It'll pull even more if it's a hatchback Civic. Well... driver's skill also counts as well.

I'll admit our cars are not the fastest..but with the right driver..a lot can b done

dude, what are you doing? That honda would run u over man. Turbocharged 1.6 VTECs are nuts, and the 2.2 VTECs are even crazier. Naturally aspirated 4-banger VS a turboed one, no competition. VS a V6, that boosted lug would have more competition. Its strange your even suggesting that you would come close to that civic. Youre relying heavily on HP figures... not cool. HP figures are magic numbers. Its all about the track. Have you ever driven a turbo ? Go drive one and then youll see what I mean when I say that turbos gonna kill u.

b16 honda vs rs 3g........... I say the honda's got it by like 3 cars.

Ive been reading the posts and i have the answer to the question weither the 3rd gen Eclipise or the B16 civic would win.

The 3rd gen would win. I own a 2000 rs (all stock, auto) and have raced many B16's over the weekend and unlees the Civic has NO2 they usually lose by about 1-1/2 car lengths.

B16? or D16, i'm not sold on the fact that an auto eclipse RS can beat a 5 speed B-16, the D-16 comes in the civic EX and the B16 comes inhte SI, dif. of 30hp because the D16 is a SOHC

yeah i think hes talkin about the B16, cause most people swap them

b16 but it'd be pretty close. If the civic had a b18b or b18c1 not a chance in hell the eclipse wins.

even if the B16 misshifts he'd still be close to winning if he didn't win to be honest i don't believe it, it doesn't add up, if it was just a civic EX or a 92-95 SI i'd believe it, but w/ the 99-00SI engine or car it doesn't add up

thats tru, the civic is still faster... unless it has a 35mph speed limiter, lol. Yeah, maybe older Si's....but not a newer b16 nopes.

the 92-95 Si's were SOHC vtec D16Z6 and had something like 126hp at the motor. The 99-00 Si's have a DOHC vtec B16a with I believe 160hp at the motor.

An EG civic would lose but the EK or EP3 would win.

i'm not ENTIRELY saavy on those frame names but i think i understand...? EG is like 92-95 EK is 96-00 and EP3 is the new one?

FI works just fine with vtec.

stories i've heard, guys blow honda engines quite a few times before they get sick of them, but there is probably a silent majority that has turbos that work i've only heard bad stories

I've heard bad stories too but there's tons of people out there with FI hondas that are running just fine. The only time people blow motors is where they're being dipshits and boosting like 15psi on a stock block.

lol. Just wait until the popular civic hatch swap is the Type S or JDM Type R Rsx. It's gaining popularity already. 200+whp running in the high 12's low 13's w/ just the swap.

makes me wonder if i should start a civic hatch project car....*dreams*
