Okay so i have a b18a1 motor with more then 370k miles never rebuilt how ever it started burning oil... go figure! n-e ways so I tested the compression and it was as followed.
cyl#1 = 210psi
cyl#2 = 205psi
cyl#3 = 210psi
cyl#4 = 195psi

so going by this I figured it was my valve seals so i pulled the head and replaced all gaskets and seals on the head. reinstalled the head and it still has the same problem and the compression is still the same. now my question is has anyone ever had this problem? my guess is that it is the piston rings but the oil it burns helps it keep its compression (similar to a wet test). Just wanting some ideas before I completely tear down the motor again.

Is it still apart or rather are you going to work on it relatively soon? I only ask cuz it should be cool for awhile, but I had a massive burning oil problem (never leaked though) when I bought my car and it got worse. I bought it with a d16a6 with high compression pistons and after about a year of loving it so much I fried the engine somehow (dizzy?) and fire started in exhaust. I ditched the motor without even parting it out to see if it was ok. I am still :banghead: for not keeping it. Anyway, hope you solve the problem and rack up the miles...
