Brake service

I have a 2003 Jimmy 4WD, with only 11,000 KMS on it. Is it common for a dealership to convince you to have the front and rear brakes services every 12 months regardless of mileage? Or are they trying to rip me off?
Thanks for all replies.

What exactly is the dealership calling "service"?

They should be inspected once a year, but other than that you only "service" parts that are bad.

I've never heard of a brake service and we certainly don't try to sell them. :screwy:

Hope this helps.
