Foster Parents Allegedly Made Kids Dig Own Graves

Children Allegedly Beaten, Locked In Cages

POSTED: 7:49 am EDT July 9, 2004

TRENTON, Tenn. -- There are harrowing allegations from an affidavit in the case of a Tennessee couple facing child abuse charges.
According to the document, a home care nurse says Thomas and Debra Schmitz forced some of their 18 foster and adopted children to dig their own graves, warning they could be killed and nobody would care.
The document alleges the children -- many of them disabled -- were beaten, locked in a cage and punished by having their eyeglasses, leg braces or crutches taken away.
The children range from 13 months to 17 years old. The Schmitz's have denied wrongdoing.

That is messed up. What have those kids done to the foster parents. Most of them are disabled. You shouldn't do that to a kid who has physical problems.

How about that couple that locked their two kids in a room every day and they resorted to nibbling drywall for nourishment...

BTW, anyone else NOT surprised this happened in Tennessee?

:disappoin This is horrendous. I think someone should put these people in cages for a while, then make them dig their own graves and get hit over the head with the shoulder until they pass out and bury them alive.

i think if we look a little closer we will find that parents don't work. their only source of income are the kids.i have heard a few stories about foster parents taking lots of kids then abusing them and taking the money the state gives to care for said kids.

it's a sick world i am with yogs and carrrnuttt. if that doesn't fly then i start the petition for work camps. these parents need a good three years of HARD labour.

So, we take those graves the kids dug, and we put the foster parents in 'em.

You can't wash off blood with blood...
I know you don't mean to kill them. But finding a suitable punishment for this would be better, say voluntary work at foster homes for 24hrs on end...:D

i say again "WORK CAMP". nothing in the world rights a person faster then a few years hard labour.

death is a release i really can't see the punishment in it. jail doesn't seem fitting either.

the sad thing is the kids were given to these people so they would have a better life. :shakehead
