d16z6 or zc

I am still trying to decide if I should do a dohc zc swap into my 1989 std hatch or go with a d16z6 vtec head. I heard puting a turbo on the vtec head was easier and there are a lot more turbos for it. What turbos can go on the d16 head?

the zc is a fine engine for some people. however, all the zc's i know have odd problems and the owners can never find parts.
on the other hand i wouldn't exactly promote the vtec head either...especially with turbo. you're better off just finding a z6 or y8. unless you build your hybrid from ground up. and that will be more expensive then finding an engine complete.
as for zc vs z6, i have comment on that too. there is somebody up in this forum with a zc that i have a friendly race with a few times. neither engine spanked the other. my y8 has gotten the better of the zc each time but not by more than 1/2 a car. generally i would say those engines are so close it would come down to the driver with reaction time. however, each time we were already on the highway in 4th...we both drop it into 3rd at the same time and go.
eventually i think the zc would take over because i always feel like i'm running out of top end. but neither of us cares to be going that fast on the highway. one of these days it would be nice to see what happens at 120mph. my bet is on the zc, lol.

Ive never topped out my zc but ive gone above 125 (speedo was pegged, dont know how much faster i might have been going) Im real satisfied with my zc though. Ive had 2 zc's and no problems with either. I do indeed like the z6's and y8's though. potent little motors.

Truth be told they are almost the same the zc has more toqure then the z6 but the z6 has a higher rpm power. In my opinion I would go with the z6 just because it is cheaper. If a swap is in mind then i would go with the zc only because i love dohc also parts for the zc are not all that hard to find you just have to know what to look for and where to look for them!!!

ZC and Z6 almost the same, Z6 is abit lighter but the ZC makes up for the extra weight with the extra cam. ZC has alot of potential but Z6 has alot of aftermarket support and maybe cheaper to maintain. I know two people with ZC's in their 4G's and they loved them at first but now are trying to get rid of them just because of maintenance, and sourcing parts. I'm sure its not all that hard but I guess it just needs someone who'll get off their ass and look for sh*#!!
