Ok a while back I swapped my OEM tail lights for a set of tinted APC's however they required red bulbs I tried a set of 3157 red coated ones but they only lasted a month due to the heat turning red into a light pink. No good so I bought 4 of the APC red LED 3157 bulbs (they don't have 3057 ones) & they seemed to work fine but just not very bright. After a few months one of the APC led's bulbs failed so I ordered a set from Jam Strait which are made special for the chevy (GMC same stuff) & I also ordered their variable load relay which took care of the fast blinker issue (which was caused by using the LED bulbs). Now I'm tired of them not being very bright & am ready to return it to stock & reinstall the OEM relay & remove the led bulbs & reinstall the original 3057 bulbs everything works fine except NO Brake lights ?
I tested with a volt meter & I have full power there at the tail light circuit all the way thru the circuit board up to the bulb contacts once I connect the bulbs nothing ?? for now I'm using the LED bulbs cause they work but I'm at a loss why the originals bulbs wont work ? I've tested each bulb & they all work both filaments, I've tested continuity across this tail light circuit board & have continuity all the way thru & I have 12 at each of the wires park lamp circuit, brake(includes blinker), reverse & ground. Any suggestions ?
thanks in advance

ok im no expert but just a guess is all i can do yah for id try changin this variable load relay back sounds like the only thing you changed between the new bulbs and the old ones,,,i cant remember exactly but i think the ground is the only thing that switches for the brakes isnt it ......id have to get my book out and look at the electrical diagrams

I have 12 led's in each of the 4 bulbs, just curious why do you think that would matter ?
