1.6 sohc vs 1.8 dohc

is the 1.8 taller than the 1.6 will it fit under the hood.

yes, b18 will fit with no problem

no. hasport.com b series mounts

hasport makes good mounts, but if your on a budget nab a set of b-series mounts off of ebay, cheap, decently made, but you do get a little more vibration than if you use good name brand mounts

humm ok. do you guys know why the stock mounts are no good. is it just a minor detail or a big clearence problem

the stock mounts are made for a smaller engine, the Bseries motor is quite a bit bigger than the d series. using the stock mounts will result in motor not being bolted in the car.

so bacically i could just modify the stock mounts

no...there is no cheap way around it...either have new ones made (been done but not an easy route to take...as said in ur other thread) or go ahead and spend $300 on new ons from Hasport...i would shy away from used ones though...

But seriously though, I had a set of b series mounts from ebay and they looked awesome. I ened up selling them before I got to use them, wish i didnt do that now, but now my friend Justin is using this with his b18c1 in my old rex, and he said they work great. So don't be afraid of ebay stuff.

all the mounts from hasport do is move the two side engine mounts about an inch forward or back in relation to the rear mount. i forget which way it goes.. azracemachine.com has mounts for under 300$ it's what i got and they're very nice mounts.
