lifter tick?

91 crx si, stock d16a6, 120000 miles. i put in some Seafoam, ran it, and now it has this loud ass ticking noise coming from the engine...someone told me its lifter tick. maybe it god rid of essential carbon deposits and fucked shit up...did it? i dont feel any loss in power, thanks for your help in advance.

There are no lifters in your engine, rocker arms ride directly on the cam. When was the last valve adjustment? Should do it at least every two years.

sounds like a tappet problem matey, have u checked the oil lately and have had a major service?

Sounds like the arm, since after a while you car probably got adjusted to the carb and now since its clean it has alot free space...

Doing a valve adjustment sould take 15 min, pretty easy.

oh and i dont know if those links tell you this but after your all done and your car is running, check them again...because you might need to adjust them again..when the oil gets between them it takes up space
