2002 Explorer XL Vent

Hi,

I have noticed that the middle glove compartment between the two front seats gets pretty cold when running my air conditioning. Almost like the duct work is there for ventilation to the rear, as in the XLT models. Is this so? And if so, would it be easy to put in a vent to take advantage of this? Are there diagrams or something to look at to see if this is possible?

Any thoughts?
