Well you would think that a Japanese car would be made in Japan and shipped to the US right? But seriously, the final assembly point is in Mexico.

That shit tripped me out, when I read that on the car and then in under the hood. But when I read the sticker on my windshield the only thing I cared about was the Engine is japanese and the transmission. I could care less where the car is built. I tripped out also when I saw where my 97 jetta was built. That shit was built in mexico as well.:alien:

Yea what happens is, the manufacturer makes and crap load of engines, trannys, and other misc. parts and ship them to North America, mainly Mexico. They do this for a few reasons and if you think about it, it makes sense. First, the labor is much much cheaper in Mexico. I was working for a company that opened a factory in Mexico and they said it would make a gigantic difference in profits. Secondly, its cheaper to ship an engine and a few other parts to Mexico on a boat and then truck the cars once they're built than to ship the WHOLE car on boat and then truck them to the dealerships.
