Interstate. That thing is lasting! I left my lights on for a couple hours while taking a nap, and was able to start it up and recharge it full by driving around town in 3rd gear. I got a system too and pulleys. My next choice would probably be Optima though cuz I think they're lighter...

i have left my lights on so many times after long drives (2 lane highway's) in the day time for like 3 hrs at a time and it only got slow (cranking) but recovered within 10 min of driving. i have no system and everything is stock.

I just read on an optima site that they weigh in anywhere from 32-43 lbs. (except for the dinky ones). I wonder what my Interstate weighs. I've moved it around before and it's heavy but doesn't feel that damn heavy... Oh yeah, the optimas (deep cycle yellow tops) range from like $93-150 from what I've seen...

I work at a battery shop.....I currently have a Blue Top Optima.....the Deepcycle version. Way over priced for what you get.....if you want a performance battery get a Odyssey Gel battery....a nice small 30ah one....then you save on weight and still get enough juice....or just stay with the OEM group 51 style lead acid battery....cheep and trusty.

Sorry if this sounds a bit nubbish, but is there a way to wire two batteries into your car and have them both charge? Say just split the two wires going to the battery, and wire it to another?

Yeah, you can, but not like that... basically, you can set it up so that the alternator will charge both, but only one will be used for the audio system, that way, if you have the car off and your using the stereo for a long time, it won't drain the main battery, so you can still start your car...
Optima Yellow top owns, but they're usually around $170.
