I dont think you want to try. You'd half to get some parts custom made, or parts from the 1JZ-GTE shipped from japan to do the conversion, the turbines themselves would be half to be from either another
7M-GTE/1JZ-GTE or some sort of aftermarket brand. Which could add even more to the cost. The whole engine would have to be removed from the bay via a crank for the installation/conversion. You'd be looking at prolly 5k$ if not more, for all the parts, and installation.
I'd say to save you a whole bunch of head aches and time, just get a decent used 1JZ-GTE imported from Japan, for, my guess, at the same price- 5k$. The engine used, and because it's an older car shouldn't cost you as much as you'd think. The shipping might be expensive, but if you want a TT MKIII that would probably be the most effective way.

Go TT, because it's JDM TyT3!! Why on earth would you need parts from a 1jz to put on a 7m? Your trying to tell me you'd seriously spend tons of money and time to mount those two pea-shooters onto a 3.0L engine for little to no gains over a single ct26?

i was asking IF i would have to spend so much extra time and money to do that. now that i know it takes so much more the appeal has all but faded. but thank you for your strongly stated post.
by the way, im puttin a 7mgte in a '75 yota pickup. and from what ive been told, a 1jzgte or 2jzgte will take a lot longer and be a lot harder to fit in my truck.

No problem, I try to get straight to the point. Actually a 1/2jz will be the same amount of work as a 7m, it will cost more though because of the price of a JZ half-cut vs. an A70 halfcut or engine/ECU set. There all about the same size and weight, cost is your only real problem.

He's right. The 7M and the 1/2JZ's are all about the same size and relatively same design for the mount, so if one wont fit then, the others prolly wont fit either . But for your money though, instead of getting an expensive JZ engine, i'd get a nice 7M and buy some aftermarket parts for it to get it to around 350hp, you nknow, a deecent turbo, intercoller, high boost pulley etc., for prolly a couple grand cheaper than the JZ's and it should be a nice swop for your truck .

You and that HUGE sig again!! Your the only one I have a problem with so don't come back telling me to turn off everyone's sigs'. :disappoin "High boost pulley", that would be a supercharged only item, not relevent at all on a turbo car. About the dimensions though, why don't you just buy the engine first then make it fit, ANYTHING can fit into ANY car with enough effort and time, so whats the problem? I've got pictures with the stock firewall, inner fenders, and radiator locations but it looks like a very tight fit.

I want to know though, were are you thinking of getting the possible engine from? Got any sources lined up? If not, maybe check http://www.ebaymotors.com (.ca for Canada) I know for the most part they sell used cars, but possibly you could find a nice used 1/2JZ-GTE for a decent price if you're lucky.
PS:LoL. I turned off my sig for this post.. happy mk3?. As for the high boost pulley I totally forgot, lol, too much Nitto.:banghead:.

Thanks man, I didn't recognize you without the sig for a second. :D Ebaymotors always has some good deals, alot of scams too so watch out and know what your getting into. Try all the local importers in your town or in the area first, then try some online importers like www.jarcoinc.com and www.soko.com
