71' monte carlo question

Hi Everybody-
I'm planning on adding under dash courtesy lights in my stock 71 monte Carlo with Buckets Seats and center console. The car has idiot lights in the dash and the only accesory lighting is the glove box light which came factory. Anyway, can I plug the harness for the underdash lighting into one of the two open slots in the fuse box. I believe one is labeled BATT and the other lapeled LPS or something like that. Any help would be appreciated. I've haven't done a lot of electrical stuff and want to make sure I do it right.
