I have a 92 honda civic hatchback and I was thinking about selling it because fwd isn't very exciting, but I could modify it to help that. I was thinking either a e30 bmw 325is or a 1.8L miata. All three cars have their pros and cons. The civic is practical, gets 40 mpg, and it is cheap to modify, but it is pretty weak on power. The bmw has alot of power and is fairly practical but it sucks gas (23 mpg hw) and although I like how it looks, most people don't. The miata has a decent amount of power and it isn't that bad on gas (30 mpg hw), but it isn't practical. I trust the reliability of all of them so that isn't an issue. What do you guys think?
By the way, I have a set of 17 inch wheels with 205/40 tires on them and if I got the miata would there be rubbing?

If you just want an exciting daily driver, get the BMW. The Miata is low and practicality, and the Civic is low on excitement, even with mods.

the miata is easily the funnest car to drive. but i would pick the bmw too. hard to not pick one out of those listed. rwd + practicality + bmw = win. :) the civic would be a good choice for a commuter car you'd live with day in and day out. but that's pretty much all it's good for. i would sacrifice some reliability and low maintenance/repair costs to get the bimmer.

Even though I drive a miata, I think you would be better in the BMW. I cant haul anything in my car. Its the most fun car to drive, but isnt very practical for anything but driving pleasure.

I'm going with the BMW as well, provided you are in an area where servicing them is economical of course...
