1G Coil Woes

Well i finally got around to doing diagnostic on my 91 Laser. There were 2 codes:
4 Long 4 Short
1 Long 4 Short

According to the book the problem of the first one is:
Ignition Coil- Check the Harness and connector, Coil, or Power transistor.
The second code is:
Throttle position sensor- Check Harness and connector, Throttle position sensor, or idle position switch.

BUT THE BOOK DOESNT SAY HOW TO CHECK ANYTHING BUT THE COIL!
and in the book it doesnt show the Non-turbo 2.0 how to get the plug out.

is this the plug?

and how do i get to the coil harness?
it says to test the coil it has to be disconnected.

Thats alot of Q's i know but the book is tiny and covers 90-98 models so its kinda brief.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
