how many does the 95 z28 come with 1 or 2? about how much hp do you think ill get if i put this on, i know it might be hard to do but im willing to do it... http://www.rksport.com/product/p_01096552/view_detail
and also what if i dont have any cats, cause some of my friends say that when they check the emissions and stuff they dont bother to check your cats, is that true?
thanks

actually cats arent hard to put on at all, but im not sure when they went to two cats on the z28. i dont think that they had them in 95, but its possible, cant honestly remember...

i think they do though cause on the item it says 93-95 so im supposing they had one to start with... well some of the people here said it might be hard, but i dont think i will need to use any more tools than the welder and some others...

ok that sounds right. they started using two cats after 95. i had remembered reading it somewhere and the year 95 was stuck in my head. couldnt remember if it was during 95 or after 95...

ok thanks, but do you know anything about the emmision people never really checking if you have cats or not?

i dont want to speak about anywhere else, but where i come from all they do is check to see if the cat is physically on the car. they dont take apart the exhaust and look inside or anything, just take a quick look-see under the car to make sure the thing is there. the one thing that might be a problem is the mileage on your car, cause its technically a fellony to change your cat prior to 50K miles, so if your car has less than that and they see a brand new cat they might say something. i say all this in an area that doesnt have emissions so i dont know what they might do in a place that does have it. but i think you'll be aight...

mine has 57k miles, and these 02 sensors i see http://www.rksport.com/browse/stf_s/c_268
u think when i change my 2 cats you think these sensors will add the hp or only add hp when you dont have cats?

i honestly have no clue. i had heard on the O2 simulators but never looked into what they were for or if they even worked. i gutted my cat on my 94 and the ecu has never thrown a code. i dont know about your car but my sensors are one wire hook-ups so i know those things wouldnt work on my car...

One of the first parts of the emissions testing here is a visual inspection. If you have a big ass hole or something like that somewhere in your exhaust they arent going to bother testing it. I would imagine they would do this everywhere but I could be wrong.

I'm pretty sure the first and only year they used dual cats is 1996. If I remember correctly, that's why 96s are rated at 285hp and all the other years are 275 (out of the 93-97 Z28s).

No I'm not COMPLETELY POSITIVE, but I'm mostly sure.

i am 98% positive that 96 was the first year of the dual cats. but here's a question: why dont you look under the car and count??
