If your drawing from the ref pic, just try to shade the value of the ref pic. If you have the image on your pc, print it out in black and white so you can see the values easier.

its like darker or lighter values on the car that arent part of the car.

just look at the reference pic and draw exactly whats there.

like ilov2xlr8's mercedes. all the reflections of the trees and stuff. just draw what you see.

I reciently bought a book called "How To Draw Cars Like A Pro"....it tells you how and has a very good section on how to do reflections.

This is pretty much true, one must look and study the ref. picts.

How I do my reflections.

Over all I work the light values 1st and end w/ the darks

-Start out w/ good ref. images and study them carefully
-Lightly draw the shapes of the reflections
-Shade the sky, clouds, things w/ soft or light values
-Blend some here and there (above)
-Start working on the darker values, build them up in layers and blend
between the layers.

That is how I do it but you guys might now a better way.

Use the stumps and torts to better blend the reflections.

lol... concepts do not usually have reflections

but you have to consider the shape of the car...for example, if you want the reflection of a tree for example on the front fender, you have to bend the tree reflection over the fender and stretch it because it's curved.

if its on the door panel, make it wider.

examine pictures of cars with reflections on it,and study the reflection on different parts of cars. That should teach you.
