i have an 87 hf with the d15a2 and i plan on putting the dual-port fi engine in my chassis but my main question is that where i am converting my insides to the style of an 89 which is what the engine came from how can i make the 89 cluster work? mind you i have not switched harnesses yet which i think that will take care of the problem.
all i am wanting to do is make it work for now until i get my engine mounts in from hasport.

Can you be a little more specific? What model of '89 are you converting to (Civic, Prelude, CRX, Miata, etc)? You will definitely need the wiring, but mounting an '89 cluster will require modification of your dash. Contact Hasport, they have done many swaps and may have an easier solution.

it is my 87 crx hf. i am getting closer to doing the cluster swap. i went through and looked at the back and traced all the pins to what they goto both on my 87 hf cluster and my 89 dx cluster and i am in the process of making a harness adapter. if anyone would like for me to post what each pin is for on the clusters i would be glad to share my work. btw when i transplant i will be putting whole dash and center console from 89 into my 87.

you may have trouble fitting it into the car. the 89 is wider than the 87

Well I had 99% success!!! everything is wired up except the battery bulb, the water temp guage, and gas guage, i am having difficulties converting wireing from the 87 to the 89. both guages on the 89 have 3 pins and the 87 water has 2 and the 87 gas has 4 but 2 of them on the gas os for the low gas light which i didnt have in the first place. if anyone has any comments on the 2 guages i would be most appreaciative. And also if anyone would like to see my notes on converting theirs let me know. Or if you would just like to have a diagram of everything. l8er people.
