On a 1998 Sunfire GT, how do you change the head light bulbs.
I looked and I'am not too sure.
I have an idea, but I dont want to break anything.

I have a 2000 GT, so I'm going to assume they are pretty similar.

Above your headlight is a black plastic piece covering it, and a bolt to the side. Use a 10mm wrench to take off the bolt. Pull the plastic up. Don't worry-you won't break it, and try to push it to the side. There will be another bolt underneath it. Take that off as well. The headlight will slide out with a little bit of force. Twist the black cap on the back to unlock it. The bulb will be in that cap when it comes out. Replace the bulb, put the cap back on, making sure it's locked in place. (If it's not, your headlight bulb will fall out a little, and you'll have to redo it all.) Then reposition the headlight, put your bolt on, push the plastic back in place, and put your last bolt back in.

It's really simple once you get the hang of it.

ok sticking with the headlight issue, i have replaced mine once or twice...you know sunfires..they seem to be known for headlight issues...

well the point is, my driver's side headlight always seems to go out, i know its in tight, but when it goes out, all i have to do is go out and tap the cover and it comes back on...i checked the wiring, replaced the light (for the 3rd time!!) and it still does it...but now she's out for good again..but the high beam still works...faulty headlight again?
i cant possibly be the only one getting bad headlights every damn time! and i have tried different stores too just in case...but this is getting ridiculous...
any of you guys have the same problem?
