Aw shucks. Its a thread taking pot shots at someone other then Bush. Can't have that now can we. Especially when it comes from someone elses mouth. To bad, so sad.
---------------------------------------------------
The Secret Service has announced it is doubling its protection for John Kerry. You can understand why — with two positions on every issue, he has twice as many people mad at him.
The Democrats are all over this. Democratic strategists feel John Kerry's war record means he can beat Bush. They say when it comes down to it voters will always vote for a war hero over someone who tried to get out of the war. I'll be sure to mention that to Bob Dole when I see him.
"In his big victory speech last night, Senator Kerry said that he wanted to defeat George Bush and the 'economy of privilege.' Then he hugged his wife, Teresa, heir to the multi-million dollar Heinz food fortune."
"John Kerry’s victory over Howard Dean has completely changed the presidential race around. Now instead of the rich white guy from Yale who lives in the White house facing off against the rich white guy from Yale who lives in Vermont, he may have to face the rich white guy from Yale who lives in Massachusetts. It’s a whole different game."
John Kerry speaks French fluently. Democrats are saying he's one in a million. A war hero who speaks French, isn't it more like one in a trillion? - Jay Leno
The White House began airing their TV commercials to re-elect the president, and the John Kerry campaign is condemning his use of 9/11 in the ads. He said it is unconscionable to use the tragic memory of a war in order to get elected unless, of course, it's the Vietnam War.
John Kerry will be the Democratic nominee for president. Democrats finally found someone who is Al Gore without the flash and the sizzle. - Greg Kilborn

I think he is trying to get everyone to vote for him by agreeing with all of them. who knows if people are dumb enough to fall for it

Yogs, I've read alot of posts from you on why you hate Kerry, I was just wondering why you like Bush? I assume you are voting for him correct? I was just curious as to what it is about his politics that makes you like him.
Personally I like Kerry better so far, and I still think both parties are pretty much after the same thing anymore anyway.

well when your platform is the same as your opponents. at the same time trying to win over the voters who don't like or don't want to vote for Bush. yeah i can see we he isn't showing a lot of consistency.

I think if he wants to beat bush, his only shot is to poke at bush's inability to grasp the english language

I don't hate the man. I just don't like the positions (or lack thereof) he takes. Its not so much a like for Bush as I don't have the vehnement zeal that some around here have.
I have issues with Bush. Some of the top ones are his inability to veto spending measures and offer new ones ticks me off to no end. Immigration is a mess and he's done nothing (along with congress) to help clean it up.
There are quite a few posts on this forum where I talk about the things I don't like about him.
Given all that, Bush is closer to my preferences then Kerry is and the Libertarian party (who I agree with on many positions, but have issues as well) can't put a winnable cannidate on the ticket.

you think he wants to beat bush huh. well i don't think he would running if he didn't. his best shot would be to play to the people who are againest the war in iraq. also the people who just disagree with bush in general. al this "flip, floping" is do nothing more then handing the election over to bush and friends.

:iagree: there isn't an ideal cannidate. Bush seems like the lesser of two "evils"(for lack of abetter word) here. Kerry scares me. everything he has said just rubs me the wrong way. like how he dealt with dean for party leadership. his stance on in iraq the war. (shuters) his plans to increase the number of soldiers in iraq(i think the number was 400 000).

I agree with the lesser of two "evils", maybe we should focus more on dismantling the system that is pressuring us to choose between to "evils" than which one we pic.

Well, I happened to stuble upon them and thought they would be good for a laugh. I'm not voting for bush or kerry. I could probably come up with a lot of things like that on my own, however the brain cells are in the reserve tank right now. I'm for the constitution party.

Amen to that. I'd like to see a big Nader turnout, just to let the Republicrats know that it's time for at least ONE party to start representing We The People, instead of condescending a bit to be the lesser of two evils. What the hell sort of democracy IS this, anyway?

Its the one where every citizen who's over 18 who hasn't committed a felony has one vote. Their choice on how they want to use it. Their choice on how much effort they want to go into in founding out the stances of the canidates and who best suits their opinions.
Its a shame that more people don't put in more time for both those goals.
I do submit that even if they did, there would still be as much devisiveness as there is now, just more people on each side.

that is the problem. i live in canada we just had our election. i ran a poll asking every one i could who they would vote for. over half the people i asked said they don't vote. when asked why they said "why would i the government doesn't do anything for me".
in canada it is a little different. by the time the east is tallied the election is over. there aren't enough seats west of ont. to even things out. so of course when the time comes to things happen the focus is ont. and quebec. I live on the west coast. and we get ignored by the government.
the same can be said for america. the non voters just don't feel that the government is looking out for them. it is time for the governement to change this.
a democracy can't work if the people don't make it to booths on election day.
