97 short throw

alright, so ive seen people with 95-99 cavis with short throw shifters, where in the hell is everyone getting them? do they make them theirselves? Not too long ago, and i think i found it in this forum, there was a guy claiming he sold official B&M short throw shifters for the 95-99 z24 models. He gave me the site www.carcustoms.net and emailed me and everything, and ive seen pictures on this forum, but i cant order from the site, does ANYBODY know anything about this and could help me out?

Also, is it possible to just hacksaw the stock one down and would that work just like a short shifter, just not as precision shifts, just shorten the throw? help me out here. thanks

That would be Karo. The shifters are not ready at this point. the date is the 24th of july. the pre order price is something like 120-130.

And no you can not just hacksaw your shifter to make it a short throw shifter (LOL) in all acuality a short throw shifter has more length from the ball/pivit point to where it attached the the tranny linkage. By doing this it creates a shorter throw from gear to gear giving you a TRUE short throw shifter. what your talking about is just rice, people cutting the tops of the shifter to make it look cool, but doing this does nothing to give you a TRUE short throw shifter, what you really get is a SHORTENED shifter (the throw is not affected by doing this) thus the reason the modd is rice, and just plan retarded.

I want to ask you too, how your making 187 at the wheels or 200ish at the crank from I/H/E and ECU? What kind of ECU mods are you using. b/c im confused on how you picked up 50hp with these mods.

i bought this car private party with things already done to it, he told me it was dynoed and the result was 180 HP (im guessing crank, although i know dyno is wheel). Further since, I have installed a high flow cat and complete new borla exhaust system whcih was pricey, but ive been told about to add 7 HP. I've run the times at Great Lakes, WI track. Those are my official times.

Overall, he could be talkin the bull about the HP and stuff - thats whats all done to the car though, and those are my offical times. Help me out, with all that stuff, what do you think the HP would be?
