Hi to all,
I finally got it for $22000, It is red with all the electronics but no t-tops.15500 miles and all stock, not even a K&N filter. What should be the first mod? I'm thinking SLP lid and K&N filter. How is the exhaust on this car being stock that is , It sounds great as is .Thanks for any comments.

If it was my car i'd say leave the exhaust if its the "loud mouth", get the slp lid with donaldson or k&n filter, and maybe change gears out to 3.73's. Is it a 35th ann. SS with the checkered stripes?

It is not 35th anniversary edition, It is a six speed. I'm thinking lid and filter.

Get the holley filter. they have made better gains than the K and N's. SS did not come with a loudmouth, it was only an aftermarket item. If the car has a TOTL keep it, any other stock exhaust should be swapped out. Get a pro 5.0 shifter with the Lou's Short Stick and become a shifting master!

i went into the local truck shop round here and they had that K&N test, the one with the air tube and the fan that shows how much more air the K&N flows. well they had a K&N and a fram, and both filters flowed the same amount of air. thought that was worth a giggle...

If you look on the inside of the door jams, you will probably see exhaust listed as one of the options. This is performance exhaust from SLP, no way in hell would I change mine. I heard somewhere that the oil from a performance air filter will eventually clog up the MAF, I don't know this for sure so if anyone wants to chime in, feel free. The very first thing I did to mine is I got the SLP Skip-Shift Eliminator. That f***ing Skip-Shift drove me nuts. This eliminator is just a wire that you plug into the trans, it runs about $20 and you never have to worry about it again. I just got the SLP short throw shifter on my car three days ago and I'm pissed that I waited this long to get it. The lid will probably be the next thing I throw on it. Enjoy and Have Fun.

The short shifter SLP uses is a hurst one.
Deadcarny, the loud mouth exhaust was available on the SS as part of the 345 HP package. I have a 2002 SLP SS dealer video showing the cars with the optional loud mouth exhaust exhaust, they say that's what you get when you order one with 345 hp.
