Time for a New Car

Unfortunately the Grand Am is no more so I'm looking for a new car. I have a few restrictions 1) it has to be around 15,000$ canadian, 2) I'd rather it be from 2000 or after, 3)Resonably fast as the guy i usually race has a 1996 Nissan Maxima(0-60= 6.7s) 4) has to have enough space to fit hockey goalie equipment(and yes i realize how canadian I am). I've done some research and found 4 cars that pretty much fit my criteria. Theres the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart, Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V, Volkswagen Jetta 1.8T and the 2001 Hyundai TIburon. Anyone have any oppinions about these cars or ideas about other posibilities. And I hope this doesnt turn into a flame war like my only other post did.

if your not going to get the golf 1.8t dont even bother with the jetta, I would lean more torwards the SE-R v spec in my opinion more bang for the buck + thier nice looking cars

The lancer ralliart is pretty cool also the nissan would be great. I guess it is just personal preference. Choose wisely and you will get the car you want.

unfortunately, you are currently in a bind for a new car. Ebay motors has many options that you can get such as 2000 Mercedes E320 for 15000 usa. Try searching. in my opinion, if you need some cash, ask your friends and family over getting an unsafe car. (your choices are good though with reliable brands) autotrader and ebaymotors will have good choices giving you the option for more bang for the buck.

He specified CND...depending on what area he lives in, those numbers are near impossible to find. Any car 2000 and up in my area are over 20 gran CND for the exception of the cavelier/sunfire

Actually Raz Kaz i have found all but the nissan for more or less around 15,000. I found a tiburon for 13,000 and a Lancer for 18,000. Maybe im wrong but wount the jetta be easiest to moddify as it comes stock turbo'd? I also found out the 2004 Mazda 3 base model is 18,000, but does anyone know if there any mods fro this car?

You could get a 99+ Mustang GT for around that much. Plenty of 99s for $11k US near me. That'd be significantly quicker than 6.7s

A Mustang GT does fit the bill. just trying to be helpful.

I really like Mustangs and there are a few I've seen for sale at my price range, but insurance way too much. Anyway I think I've pretty much decided on the Jetta or the Ralliart as my second choice. Thanks for all your help guys

I'm a little late for this one, but why not take ur 15,000 and buy a Taurus SHO in good shape and mod it a bit? Then you've got tonnes of room for hockey equipment AND friends and you have a but of a 'sleeper'.
