Hy everybody, i've post two or tree threads for my trouble, i do somme checking and i think a got it, but i need your opinion before changing any parts. So when i start my 1983 944, the car star well but the rpm drop down immediately to 100 rpm and want to die. But when i press on the accelerator the rpm raise to reach 1200 and run great, BUT when i turn the head lights on, or the cooling fan goes on, or any electric devices like the fogs or simple like the electric windows the rpm drop down again and never come back to a normal idle speed.
So i supose that is my regulator on the altenator, the electric idle valve, or the auxilary valve???
thank you guys i hope you can help me because i,m geeting crazy :banghead:

hmmm, I think I might have the same problem on my '83 944, but not as pronounced. Its driving me crazy as well and I have no idea what it could be. maybe a leaky intake boot or something?? Any help would be apreciated.

I just noticed this type of question on another BBS and although the systems are different, they're somewhat the same.
Have you checked the AFM? Here's a link to test it. www.frwilk.com/944dme/afm.htm
Also, there may be a broken solder connection in the DME connector. This would help explain why it happened at the DME swap. Basically you pop the DME wire connector open and look for a loose wire, find it's home and resolder it on.
Testing the battery. Get a volt meter and watch the voltages as the engine goes thru it's cycles. If you're not getting AT LEAST 13.0 volts after startup back to the battery then something in the charging circuit is amiss.
Hate to repeat old info but did you clean your grounds? The main one from the battery, from the firewall to the engine, the one at the left headlight area next to the ac dryer, and the one behind the dash.
Oh, and never give up. Please post the model numbers of your AFM and DME box if nothing else helps.
