Sure I'm somewhat free next weekend. Friday I'm going to my muffler shop and getting a new muffler...the one I've got now is getting annoying. Saturday is cool. Sunday there is an auto-x in Burlington that I'll be going to...want to come? Great fun! During the week I'll be working in Indianapolos IN, fly back thrusday nite. :(

Hey Jason,

Alright ..if you don't mind lets meet Saturday I'm not sure if Morning or Afternoon is better for you ..let me know so I can do a little planning.

Sure I'll go to Burlington to check it out.

Not a busy weekend ..because I'm off on holidays on the Tuesday ..to San Francisco ..any good shops down there to look for cosmetic parts ?

my halo plugs got delivered yesterday,
so last night i put them in.
Like the stuff from halo said, I disconnected the negative battery cable for 30 minutes.
[Anyone know if this really resets everything, not just the radio and clock???]

plopped the plugs in.
(How do you guys torgue them? I guess I gotta find some extender stuff for my torque wrench)
fired up, sounds fine. I did not retard the timing.

took a spin around the town to 'fully check it out'
ie, drive it hard.
felt a little crisper, but that could be all in my head, or maybe I should've had the timing advanced a couple degrees with the old plugs...who knows.

next tank of gas I'll keep track of the mileage to see if that improves.

Yo Dre,

Did you get the "a" version of the halo spark plugs for the g20. When I ordered it ..the dude said the a version would work better. Have not received my plugs yet ..i'll give em a call in a bit to see where they are at.

keep me posted on how your car is doing.

It usually will feel crispier .but then any spark plugs will do that ..because its ....NEW!!!

the only way you are going to feel the difference is on mileage and after a few hundred kilometres ..and you need that quick acceleration on the highway.

dprotech-

I think the plugs are d9 or h9... I didn't hear/see anything about the 'a's, I ordered them online. Keep us posted.

Yeah, they are new plugs, so the crisperiness (creative vocabulary:silly2: ) does make sense. Didn't think of that.

One thing I forgot to mention:
my old plugs were pretty sooty looking...not too bad, but I was surprised. I got the car in November, about 7500 miles on it.

Finally the darn halo plugs arrived. First time around it must have been lost in the mail. Anyhow I have them in my hand and will install this weekend ..Jason willing.

Hehe I guess I should ask if you can bring your tools so we can swap them ..I'm not sure but I think we will have to play with the advance too. Jason do you have antiseize compound and dielectric grease?

If not I can probably pick it up at Canadian Tire

will need a torque wrench too..but I guess you already know that.

Thanks,
I'll buy you lunch to sweeten the deal

Aww you don't need to bribe me to help work on your car dude! But sure I'll bring my socket and torque wrenches and my timing light along with my FSM. If it's hot like today....don't know but DAMN its hot today.

My non-hooked up water temp gauge read an inside the car temp of 140F today!

Halo plugs went in perfect ...at 19 degrees advanced timing. Car is a little peppier ..but nothing I could say for sure. Supposedly it will take a few hundred clicks before I notice a difference as my ECU adjusts.

Will keep ya'll posted.
