Sup all.
Ok I will start with my current setup:
Headunit: Alpine CDA-9825
Subs: Dual MTX Thunder6000 15"
And now the problem: (Long but plz read + help)
When i first got my subs, I was using the stock headunit. (Awhile ago) At the time I was shocked at how quiet and soft hitting these subs were especially for 2 15s that are 350 rms/725 peak. When I asked about the problem, I was told that my box was to small for my recomended size. The guy told me he screwed up and would redo a larger box for free (still hasnt happened~but thats anouther story). The box is sealed. Later I was told that it was because of my headunit, that it did not have direct bass output and because i was going through an adapter, it caused a problem. Now I have the new headunit and the subs are still not as loud as i would have hoped. And now with the new headunit I cant turn up the sound to loud because my panel speakers cant take the heavy bass output (But i need heavy bass on to get a lil outta my subs). I am now told that the problem is my Amp, because it is a 600w peak amp and my subs need 350 rms, which it isnt getting from a 600w non mono/class D amp. I was also told that I would need ported for better sound. Someone please respond and help. Thanks in advance.

bridge your amp, it will double output w/ the same amount of imput. but a warning... it will cut the ohms in half which can be hell for your amp. make sure your amp can handle it. if you have a direct hard wired amp, and a new head unit everything should work. try bridging your amp. and porting your box is kinda a half ass idea, when you do that you tune your sound for a certain frequency. any frequency out of the ideal range will sound bad, but on the other hand w/e is in the range will sound amazing. if you listen to a lot of rap then i would say go for it. anything else i wouldn't recomend it.

yea actually i do listen to 99% rap. As for bridging how is it done? Do you have a link or anything describing it? I think I am just going to build the box myself and say screw the guy (which would result in sealed not ported).

bridge the amp if you want but its no different whether its bridged or not....the idea is to achieve the lowest impedance the amp can handle either bridged or not bridged I don't know the specs on the amp or the impedance and number of coils on the sub so that info is needed. A ported box will gain a lot of volume if built correctly. And any frequency above the tuning frequency will sound good you will have a peak above the tuning frequency though. I would get a better amp and even consider better subs. You should also upgrade your factory speakers and preferably amp them. If not get a crossover. Get the info on the subs and amp and I will tell you how to hook it up for best performance. Bridging is when you combine 2 channels....if your amp is a 2 channel amp and is regular class a/b amp then when you bridge you will get max power from 4 ohms.....youc an't go below this if you want to have you amp very long....if you subs are dual 4 ohm his is great! You just wire in a series parralell combination for a 4 ohm load on the amp.....as far as a box GO WITH PORTED!!!!!! myself or someone else I'm sure would be willing to make some plans for one.

Ok, i found the model # for the amp: Kenwood KAC-7285. However i couldnt find any information on the net for it.
As for the subs, all i know is they are Thunder6000 15", dont know which ohm or any of that stuff.
As for the comment of getting new amp/subs. Is this really necessary? I want nice sounding subs, but i dont need excessive. I purchased these subs with box, wiring, amp, and installation for $600. I really dont want to just discard them for new ones. Even though I am told I could get 400$ for the subs, but on ebay they are going for alot cheaper like 100 for 2, so i doubt it. Also like 90 for them amp, but im not sure of this/how do i find buyers. From there ratings on paper they seem like good subs. I really think it is the setup. But im open to hearing your opinions.

well without more info it will be hard to help you.....i'm guessing the amp is 2 channels, how many connections are on the amp for speakers? also, how many connections are on the speakers themselves?

i cant find anything on your amp. your amp is probably not strong enough. you need at least a 300 x 2 watt (rms) at 1 or 4 ohms to get full potential of your subs. get a new amp then wire the subs either parallel/parallel (1 ohm), or series/series (4 ohms).
