Window Tinting

Alright. I want darker windows, strait up. I don't want to pay for actual tinted glass replacements, and I am somewhat wary of these stick on limo tints. I've seen a couple of shitmobiles driving around town with airbubbles under the plastic. Are some limo tints better than others, or do they all suck? Are people just doing it incorrectly? Feedback.

just goto a place that gives a warrenty get the best you can afford think it's called llumar?

As far as air bubbles, that would be the morons putting the tint on and have no idea what they're doing and are on the "cusotmize my ride" boat but have no "work at a job". (Sorry little fed up with this) but anyway, limo tent doesn't last forever, but it will look good for a while, and is cheap, but like i said, you have to know what your doing to make it look good. There are a lot of places that will use high quality tint and put it in for you for a small fee ($150) and give you a warranty.

I have an appointment on Tuesday at Standard auto glass.... They are doing 7 windows for $350cdn... a little steep, yes, but it comes with a lifetime warranty against colour change, bubbling, peeling etc.

Look for a pro installer and don't skimp on the price... it'll be worth it in the long run.

$350 CDN sounds a little high. Make sure you are getting the window film that is worth that amount. Here is a site that helped me. http://www.tintcenter.com site gives you an idea about price, color, and quality of the window film my tint shop was pushing.

^^^ Have you seen the size of the windows on this car? They do have to remove a good many part from the interior to do it right. Any other shop I talked to only offered a 3 year warranty max. Standard has been around for years, I'm not worried about not being able to go back if something goes wrong.

Your car interior can be disassembled and reassemble quickly , bigger = easier for tinting windows , life time warranty on that particular car would cost 200 bucks canadian at the most any darkness you want.

Well, I had it done anyways. It was done with - Llumar platinum plus tint? Apparently the best on the market. Also the only type with true UV protection.

It came out to $175cdn in material and $125cdn for labour. Lifetime warranty against colour change, bubbling, peeling, or any defects in workmanship. $345cdn in all, with tax. They also fixed my rear defrost and headliner for free. It turns out that one of my friends' father works there:)

7 windows in all, 30% rear, and 35% on the rest. I didn't want to go too dark because in Ontario, it's the 'officer's judgement' that is the final word on tint. If he can't see you well enough, he can have you remove it.

I'll post some pics for the hell of it as soon as I get a nice day to wash the car. I don't really mind the expense... It seems fair enough for the quality of the job. I'm very happy with it.
