Just installed throttlebody spacer!

I have a 1998 silverado 5.7liter vortec. Just installed throttle body spacer. It seemed to help quite a bit. The 5.7liter vortec seems to have a flat spot or higher rpms than the 5.3 liter. Before it would shift there would be a lose of pull on the 5.7liter. Now it appears to have quite abit more pull all the way up to the shifting point. I am very happy with it now I will have to check my gas mileage next. I a bit back put a magna-flow system on it and it helped a little in low end. I put an intake system on and it helped a little in low end together not a lot of help. I took out the screen in the MAF to. But the throttle body spacer appears to compement the rest. Thought some of you might want to know my experience with it. The spacer came from ebay from T&T motorsports. It is aluminum and good quality. I payed 35.00 with shipping.

There is a typo on the above post it is suppose to say "seems to have a flat spot [on] (not or) higher rpms than the 5.3 liter.

Good posting....it is nice to hear real world results on products available for the trucks. I'd like to get the spacer for my 4.8 but I've got the MAC intake and I don't really want to trim the fan shroud......

OOO yes I heard things on this forum in the past about having to trim shrowds on curtain chevy's The performance chip is the best one to go with any how along with an intake and exhaust.

I'm gonna order the Poweraid Spacer for my 1992 5.7L TBI tomorrow and see what happens. I've heard that the spacers really help the TBI engines, so I will be sure and post whenever I get it done. I do know Flowmaster cat-back exhaust helped in the low end (big tiem actually), and I'm hoping the TB spacer will further enhance that. I plan on getting an Airaid Intake system as well (you can use their intake system with their spacer), but not anytime soon (probably months instead of days or weeks)

I bought onw from Turbo City in Orange, California. Putting it on an Edelbrock TBI manifold which itself is already 1/4" higher than stock. Also got a big spun aluminim velocity bowl that you rivet to the bottom of your air cleaner after cutting the bottom opening to about 10" across. The bowl AND the spacer are supposed to be greater than the sum of parts. We'll see...
