Grand am was making noise in engine, like it was rubbing. It did't even when was stop,so it wasn't coming from wheels or brakes.Went to start the car,it run for about a min or two then stop, now it doesnt do nothing .Could this be the starter?

Might be that something froze. Power steering pump, water pump, a/c or anything else connected to the belt(s). Check the belt to see if it is totally worn and check for rotating parts that are not moving.

I try to start the car today, batt was low so we use cables. It took a while but all of a sudden car starts and again in less than 2 min die then nothing, just a little noise from starter, not a loud click. When it start, belt made a really loud noise>could this been because is been sitting for a month? Thanks for help

disconnect the belt(s) and try starting it again, if it runs and stays running with no noise then you have a locked up pulley. Check which pulley by trying to turn each one by hand.
