1g transmission problem

ok here the deal 92 eagle talon 2.0 N/T automatic
ever since i got the car 6 months ago the trans has been screwy. it doesnt go into drive right it has no overdrive and it shudderes when shifting sometimes. yesterday it decided that N, D, 2, L should all put it in forward P and R put a strain on something cuz the rpms dont go past 2000 even at wot. the only way i can back it up is to turn it off and put it in R. the last time it did this i was sitting in my driveway in Reverse trying to figure out what was up and it clunked real loud and worked right again. this time it aint working. also before when pulling out from a stop it was like it let the clutch out reallllllly slowly or dumped it(i know no clutch in a automatic but thats the best way to decribe it) no it pulls away normal. what the hell it going on?
