i guess i'm sorta lucky in a way, my girlfriend loves going fast, and she loves my car as much as i do, brags to other people that her b/f car is faster then there's :grinno:
on saturday, i took the dads car out for a spin, and she was with me. after driving around for so long i went to an open area and quite street were there are no cops and just ripped the asphalt to shreds. floored it and redlined every gear. she is screaming with joy and "saying do it again" she says its funner than a roller coaster :grinno: i finally had to stop and she wanted more :grinno:
i think she likes speed better than i do :uhoh:
any of you have a g/f or b/f husband or wife?
do they like speed or not?

LoL, thats great stuff. Just the opposite, my x-g/f would scream but not with joy. She thought I was going to kill her.

My wife loves speed :iceslolan She owned a Camero while I had the 94 VR4 and we'd have a run now and then. (The only time I lost was when I was driving her car) Then when we had both the Spyder and 94 we'd take them out and have some fun with those.

My wife grew up with three boys. today one is a Classic car restorer, one is a Marine and the third fabricates lowriders. So ofcourse she turnned out to be a gear head too. Not only does she like speed but she also races herself. We met in college about three years ago and she used to race my old Eclipse GSX. Right now we only have the 3/s but soon she will be getting her own little asphalt rocket. She drags, drifts, autocrosses, runs ATV's through mud parks and is even preaty darn good at offroading but she deffenetly loves speed.

My girlfriend hates speed (she gets into accidents with parked cars and deer and shit lol) she hates driving and speed but likes the way my car looks. She yells at me when I go over 75 on the saw mill parkway in NY where she lives, but when she is asleep on the way back from a concert or dinner or something in NYC I gun it up to 100-110 and use all the lanes to take the many curves and hills :evillol:. My driving is so smooth she never wakes up! Hehe gotta love speed!

Haha, I still remember the first time my mom was a passenger on an interstate with me driving. I had my license for a few years at that point, but she never accompanied me on long trips. She fell asleep, woke up an hour later, looked over at the speedo and asked, "are we really going 107?" "Yeah" she shrugged and went back to sleep.

Just about an hour ago I hit 120mph going down route 65 to take my girlfriend home. It was 3:30am and very little people where on the road, so I decided to floor it. It was kind of funny because she was leaning forward with her head turned towards me talking, and when I opened up the throttle she got flung back in her seat and stopped talking.
I had to slow down because of traffic, and when I paced myself at 80 she was like “Wow, I’ve never been in a car going that fast. Can we do it again?” I think she likes going fast!
Too bad it wasn’t in a 3000GT though. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to take her on a speedy drive in my very own VR4.

Well yes and no ...If its controlled and slow going up to speed then yes..... but like this evening i got my vr-4 outta the tranny shop for a warranty on synchros (bad 2nd synchro?) and thought i would give it a spin ....we went up to speed pretty slow...she didnt mind that......but when i took a left and turned and dropped 1st gear at redline and just kept slammin gears she got prety p.o'd (mainly i think because her head hit the pass window....lol) so like i said YES and NO ......

G/F loves the speed as much as I do, but only when she's in the car, if I tell her I was racin doin 130 in a 35 without her she gets pretty mad at me :( guess she wants to die with me when I crash, but wouldnt keep her if she didnt like it. :D

Not at all, just the other day got in a race with a BMW, I dont know what series (somethin with 8 cylinders) but it was a 35 mph road (5 lanes though), we both hit 130 mph in the rain, pretty crazy (this was in my Firebird), I got some bald tires too...I figured if there's a cop, i'm not stoppin cuz there's no way hes catchin up and if somebody pulls out in front of me ill hit a pole instead of them lol. Sadly, neither of us pulled ahead of the other, made me feel good that he had a $30,000+ car and I had a $2000 car 10+ years older than his and he couldnt beat me. I was also only runnin 7 cylinders out of 8, need some spark plugs. :) And yes I was slightly worried while doing this, but not enough not to do it again.

slow down there cowboy, dangerous. i once did 115mph in hard pooring down rain and was hydro plaining for half the race. that was stupid and i'd never do it again.
and niether should you, be carefull man, thats not cool.

Don't worry, I am careful, if I was hydroplaning at all I wouldn't have kept going faster, and there wasn't enough rain yet to have built up any puddles, it's pretty much a normal thing for me to be doing that at this point.

Kudos to everyone who have wives and girlfriends who like going fast! For the rest of you who have significant others who don't like it, maybe dating a racer chick could be more fun. ;) I have yet to date a guy who genuinely has the need for speed in his blood as much as I do.

My dad has a 5.0 now. But we were in his old Cobra when we took it to 160.
I've always liked 3kgt's!! Always wanted one. But I'm still on my first car. I'm saving up for a VR-4 in the future.
I hope you dont mind if I post under this section of AF.com. I dont have a 3kgt right now, but I hopefully will.

Well, I wouldnt necessarily call it a beater because it's a damn good first car. But yeah, it's a 96 Civic EX.

my girlfriend doesnt like when i race but doesnt get too mad. now...if im on an open road and i decide to get into the top end....usually after 110-120 she starts smackin me and i have to slow down before i crash. she has a 03 grand am gt and ive raced her a few times. let me tell ya...that thing gets off the line FAST!!! only 1 time i got my launch good enough to take her out of first. if she gets me on the line then i dont pull until 3rd. she has technicly "beat" me a couple times because we had to shut down, so she trys to rub it in....i just keep telling her...what happens at 110 honey? then she keeps her mouth shut cuz she knows her car cant go past that....:D

I dunno, my girlfriend always bitches at me about speeding. I cant stand it.. but her car (1996 corsica  ) and she will do like 80 all the time, (still not all that fast) but I had her in my car one time and I think I hit about 120 and she just sat there and didnt say a damn thing. Maybe one of these days im going to have to take her out for a little spin. :evillol:
