shift knob

ok well on my grand prix i just got a new automatic shift knob and my mom likes it. she has the 04 cavalier sport style one. and she wants a shift knob like mine... its the ichibahn one. but i lookd at hers and her shifter is taht like T shaped one with the thumb button. can u still take those off and switch to a new shift knob? if so could someone explain how thanks

Yes. Under the knob, the button is actually on the top anyway. The button on the side just pushes a pin onto the top of it. You should just be able to pull the pin on the front of the knob and it will slide right off. Just make sure the screws and stuff line up right on the new knob.
