check oil light

have a 96 sunfire 2.4 twin cam 4cyl. when started, after sitting an hour or longer, the check oil light comes on. if shut off and re-started right away the light goes off normally. if only shut down for 20 or 30 minutes and started the light goes off nomally . changed the oil control sensor and it didn't help. anyone with suggestions. txs

you sure your not leaking oil somewhere? I was losing a quart every 1300 miles. changed valve cover gasket and now I only lose a quart every 3k miles. on my other car, I'm losing a quart every 1600 miles. I checked underneath and the oil pan gasket is leaking pretty badly
