i was thinking of getting an injen short ram intake for my 92 lx. this would probably be the only mod id ever do to my car because im to broke right now. do you think it would be pointless to do this if i never plan on doing anything else? id like a little more power and some good noise. thx
-mike

-mike ummm....you could drag some pop cans behind your car, that would do about the same thing. :) Short ram intakes don't do jack for power, it will give you a little different sound, but that's probably the worst mod you can do, sorry. :)

i figured that, would it be just as pointless to get a cai instead?

thx, that was the answer i was looking for. will it improve gas mileage too? i just started a job as a pizza delivery boy and wanted better gas mileage.

I have a intake on my car, and it actually made my gas mileage worse:(

if you want better gas mileage, dispose of the lead foot. the old tale of the lead foot is a true one, full throttle and wide open throttle runs in a totally different way then partial throttle loads and consumes more gas. thats your best deffense from shitty gas mileage.

On a cold winter day here in Denver, my short ram intake provides a little bit of extra power, just fyi. I will have to get a CAI for the summer though. It depends on where you live. If you live in a state where it's warm a lot of the time (Florida or california) then without a doubt get the CAI.
