custom built SC??

Okay, I know turbochargers can be swaped between manufactures and custom applications do to there common sizes but what about superchargers? I was wondering what the model # is on the JRSC (for B series) and if that same model was ever equiped on a production car. If it's possiable you could buy the IM/belt/ect. from Jackson Racing and then have a custom SC setup. I know SCs can be easily swaped between big blocks so why not hondas??

**Just so you guys know I have been researching this and can't find anything on the net and I'm not looking for "just buy a kit" as an answer, that would defeat the purpose of a custom set up

any web sites would also be appriciated. Thanks

All the different Chevy and Ford V8 engines have mostly standard intake configurations and sizes. Thus reconfiguring is usually as simple as just a bolt-on. Hondas and most other imports custom design each engine, meaning that you cannot swap so easily between apps - you'd have to custom make an adapter.

There's another issue that makes it difficult. Most domestic V8 apps have plenty of extra space under the hood - most compact cars do not. You often have to do some extreme squeezing and reconfiguration to jam extra parts in there - particularly when they have to be belt driven like an SC.

But, even if it's not easy, it's still quite possible to do; for example look at this cool, custom SC install on a 4g prelude:

Which B motor are you talking about? The B16A2, B18C1, and B18C5 all use the Eaton M-62 blower while the B18B1 uses the Eaton M-45 blower.

All these blowers are available from Magnuson, which is the Eaton distributor here in North America.

Spoke to them over at SEMA. They will sell a single individual unit to you if you like. In fact, if you're going to go that route, I would go ahead and get a 4th generation blower. (Jackson uses the 3rd generation blowers for their kits.)

Vortech makes a reverse rotating centrifugal supercharger for Hondas and reverse install for Mustangs.

you could adapt this to your application, but it wont be cheap unless you plan to do the majority of the fabrication yourself.

The Vortech S-trim or SQ-trim will push in the mid 20#s of boost and flow over a 1000 hp in Mustang trim. That's WAY too big (both in fit and in drag) for an engine 1/3 the size. The G-trim, which they use for the B series is a much better choice.

But anyway. What are you going for here? If its custom just for the sake of custom the JSR blower's probably aren't the way to go. You're just going to end up spending more for pretty the same thing. They are limited in their flow capasities so you aren't going to get a whole lot more out of it then they do.

The same with the Vortech. They will push a lot more boost then their kit, and I'm sure they will sell you just the head, but you'll end up fabricated pretty much the exact same parts they did for more money. Is there a performance objective here, or is it a be-different thing?

Well my idea was to find a stock SC off of a production built car (cheap) and then buy all the rest of acces. from JR rather than build an IM,ect(so if it were done it would be just like JRSC but w/a used SC). I wanted to find out if this could be done cheaper than buying a kit. It would be for a LS engine. Back to my question, what roots type SCs will bolt up to after market intake manifolds for B-series?? thanks for your help so far guys!!:D
