Engine seems bogged down...

I'm in a 2000 v6 and just had the computer modified to new specs by the dealership. My engine was stalling on start up and they said I needed to have the EGR cleaned...which I did and had the injectors cleaned and flushed (Do I need to change the fuel filter too?).

However, since then, the engine seems to have no power going from 2nd to 3rd gear (automatic)...it's as if it doesn't have enough air (new fram filter installed). It feels like the engine wants to put out more power but it's being choked. Another analogy, it's as if the car is heavy and going up a hill.

Point being...what does the new code input into my Rodeo modify? Will it make the engine get better gas mileage and cause this effect?

Does anyone else have this 'bogged down' effect occuring? Will a clogged fuel filter cause this?

I've heared mixed results from the PCM "upgrade". Usually less power. Have not seen reports of reduced MPG's. Maybe that power thing will get better for you as the PCM adjusts itself.

Maybe your low on tranny fluid and it slipping a bit?

Well, that just sucks all around. It definately feels like there is less power hitting the road. What is the point of the ecu upgrade then?

I didn't realize low tranny fluid would make it feel this way. I think it's ok though...I've recently had it flushed...maybe it's time for a new filter in there though.

Has dropping in one of dem der expensive fancy air filter's helped anyone out in this area (ecu upgrade)?
