Back from the dead

Hey guys, I'm not really dead. I've gone through quite a bit in the last few months and I'll tell you all about it later on. I'm runnin on 56K until I move into my apartment so my posts will be few and far between, but just wait until I'm up and running with DSL again and we'll be set. Peace.

Picked up a project car for $500 (1981 Ford Mustang)
Finished with H.S.
Broke up with Dani (for the last time)
Found new girlfriend
Team doing really well, got our first Magazine picture

All right... let me begin. *get ready I'm writing a book here*

So I decided to be an idiot and stop going to school after going to SEMA... I don't know why, it's just what I do. So I figured I had no choice but to fail so I called my recruiter and told him about it. He got pissed off and bitched me out for a bit and I understood completely.

So I moved back into Leesburg at my Grandmother's old house and lived here until something picked up. So my friend Jack and I went out looking for apartments and we found one. So now my name is on a lease with Jack. So my school calls my mother and tells her that they don't care about me, they just want the statistic of another graduate... so my mother tells them to fuck themselves. They get ahold of me, and with my mother's advice, I do the same.

So I haven't heard from the Marines in awhile and I'm at a car show in Manassass with a couple of my teammates. This dude from a new magazine called "Auto World" I do believe asks if he can take pictures of Jack's WRX and Trevor's Bandit 600S (bike if you don't know). So we're like go ahead. Long story short, Trevor's bike won some online competition and now they're gonna do a 6 page layout of Trevor, his bike, and our team. Kudos for us.

The next day my recruiter calls me and tells me he can still ship me. So now on my mind is an apartment, the recent milestone for my team, and my desire to be a Marine. I tell him I'll sleep on it for a few days and call him back.

I start working regularly at my deadbeat job again and money is starting to flow, and my friends ask if I want to go to Shooters (poolhall/bar in Leesburg) and shoot some pool. I agree and we meet up with Ashleigh and some of her friends there.

I met Melissa that night and we hit it off rather well. After finding out Dani cheated on me for the 4th time of my knowledge a couple weeks earlier, it was refreshing to see I still had a little game left. :lol: We talked alot that night and I gave her a back rub cuz she was sore and the list goes on. We ended up going back to my house and laying down on the couch for a little bit.

It was an odd moment really... wondering what was to come next. I looked at her, looking at me, and I moved in for the kiss. It worked. We made out for a little bit then she had to go home. The next day I asked her out and she said yes, so there you have it, Andrew's new girlfriend.

Odd twist... Melissa turns out to be Angie's best friend's twin sister. No joke... So Angie calls me up and asks if I'm seeing anyone new. I said sorta. She said how about Melissa? I asked her how she knew. She said Melissa is Sarah's (her best friend) twin sister. Then she went on to tell me she doesn't know how we're supposed to get married if I'm dating other people, and nothing came out of it. Yes, we do still talk. Yes, she still swears she loves me.

So I call my recruiter back up and he tells me I can ship as a 12J. I went to find out that that's not a great thing. I then go out to the station, get bitched out for a few hours by the Staff Sgt. in charge, and am soon after discharged. Bad day. Gets worse.

Dani decides to call me later on that night in tears. It seems she can't take the fact that I've moved on and am starting to be happy again. She cried on the phone with me (and Melissa is right next to me) for a good half hour. I broke down a bit, knowing I made her sad, but in the end I reconvinced myself she's just doing it for the attention. Yes, Dani still calls me. No, I'm not getting back together with her.

So then Melissa goes off to Europe for a couple of weeks. I get kinda somber and Dani finds out. The night before Missy (Melissa) comes back, I get a call from Dani's cellphone. Her boyfriend is on the phone and he needs me to help Dani recover from one of her heart disruptions. *Dani has a bad heart in all honesty*

So I take Jack's car and go to where they are. She's faking it. It's obvious to me simply because I've seen it so many times before, real and fake. She's begging me to do what I used to do to make her feel better (which is make out with her and eventually have sex) and I flat out refuse. In the end I take Matt home and drop Dani off at her car and tell her not to hurt that poor boy the way she hurt me. She got mad and we fought for a couple hours.

4th of July. Missy returned to the States and it's also the annual Trax Revolution cookout (I'd say BBQ but I remember the huge argument that followed the last BBQ discussion :lol:). We discovered that bottle rockets hurt if you stand above them, 3 packs of sparklers lit off at once is like making a homemade flashbang, and sparklers can also catch trees etc. on fire.

Other than that it's been work and a few minor car events (Rev-it-up and a couple of Nopi Race Wars and Hot Import Nights). The team is doing very well and I can't wait to start work on my Mustang.

On that subject it's a 1981 (two years away from being antique *sp*) blue Mustang. It's a straight 6 fag-o-matic (soon to be changed) and it's my new baby. Other than that I move into my new apartment July 25th and I will finally have a place I can call home. yay. Other small stories to come later. Peace.

Ship as a 12J? I thought the Marines used numbers for MOS'? Like 8541 for S/S.

Don't take any shit from recruiters. You're not sworn yet, so tell them you won't sign until you get what you want. In a nice, but firm way.

Done it... kinda sad it's over but there're more important things to focus on now... like how am I gonna survive Angie coming up in a month and staying at my apartment?

Join the Marines and get away from there. If you're fit enough to get in, you're in a good position. Some of us are working towards that kind of fitness and would be rather pleased to be in that position.

How's that going?

It's going OK. I've been dropping quite a bit of weight which is good. I need to get out and do some running though and get my times down.

Getting a pack soon and will be tramping a lot more, since that is more important than running in the Army, though I still need to do it. Planning to hit the Northern Crossing soon enough, before the snow gets too thick.

Need to do more running though.
