First off congrats on getting the 01 paid off  (My 98 will be paid off in 5 months :p)

Anyhow, I would either upgrade the cat-back and grab a AEM c/a/i.
Should knock on a couple of horses and is well under 1k....

Intake, header, exhaust.... that should just about spend your $1,000.
Of those 3 I would probably sacrifice the header first if you're looking to save money because the factory Honda header is actually not that bad for performance...unless you plan to add more modifications in the future. But I/H/E is usually the starting ground for most people.

I'd save up for a turbocharger if I already had a G saved up, but that money is gonna be hard to not blow, isn't it?

98/LX...can you email me some larger pictures of your car with the white wheels on it? I wanna get some white 6 or 7 spoke rims on my Green 98 DX sedan and have often wondered how it would look. I bet it would match up nicely with my white emblems, and colorado's white and d. green liscense plates. :)

I would spend it on a AEM. Its less than 1k and I think its a good start!
