Real quick question... I just got a 98 accord and the manual says to use ONLY HONDA COOLANT. I called the local Auto Zone Etc... and they say that Prestone is fine. I figured it was also. But i want to make sure..Can someone verify this..I have always used Non-honda anti freeze in my past hondas...

thanks, Foxy

Hey just for your curiosity you can buy these little valves from auto zone or any home store. It's is just a little pipe that has a water hose srew on it. I did this to my accord(It's good to change at least once or twice a year). All you do is cut a coolant line slide it in and put clamps on each side. So then when you fluch the system just hoo the hose up to that screw and open the valve. Makes a lot easier and 50 times quicker. Also any kind of coolant is good. Just don't get the orange $#@!.. It will rust things.

F22..tell me about flushing the system. i usually drain the radiator and refill and unloosen a air release screw? on top of the engine. I have not even looked on this 98 accord yet to see if it has one..just what is entailed in a flush and do i need to buy anything or just use water? Thanks, foxy

Well with your flush your supose to empty your system and fill it with regular water and run your engine with just water for a few minutes. Then fill with coolant and water mixture. With the water hose adapter it pushes water through your system breaking things loose etc. Also the nest time you change the coolant you still have that adaptor. Pretty much the whole point is time. Instead of filling up using cups and buckets you have a water hose. Also not to sure about that pressure screw on yours I don't think my 94 has one.
