Z Friends?

my best friend is looking for a car. he has looked at a gsx or gs-t and doesn't want one because of reliability problems. his parents are trying to get him to buy a trans am, i definitely don't want that. he finally told me one day that deep down inside he wants a 300zx but doesn't want to get it because i have one. how do you guys feel about two close friends having the same car?

I kinda wish my friend gave a flying rat's ass about cars at ALL....he drove the same peesashit saturn for EVER......sit at idle in it and it sounded like it was going to rattle apart......LITERALLY. Now he has a '99 outback.....which I ran into. So...sometimes I'm kinda glad he doesn't really care about cars much.....he's pretty much quit bugging me about fixing it......

I have the same exact ZX as you do, except 1990 and double exhaust pipes on each end.

To be honest, once in a blue moon, I see a ZX in the road here. So you can't ever have too many ZX in the road. Tell him to get a newer ZX with different color scheme than yours. As for ZX's reliability, well, we all know the parts are expensive as hell.

yeah my friend got one after me without telling me and he bought it so much "better" than mine. Then it blew hahahaha, sucker, now he wants to sell it, but its cool to have friends with the same car. look at all of us. if we ever meet for that show or something then we are some friends with the same car. and iunderstand its different, but hey screw it, just keep it nicer than his haha make him always look like the littler brother

My buddies all have a Z of some sort... 4 of us have 240z's. It's cool, we all help each other out whenever we can if a problem comes up.

Right now, we're all doing motor work on all of our cars.

yeah if umm anyone would like to give me a beater car, id like to start with the gutting of my Z for new toys...k thanks

i dont know. i dont think i would like having my best friend rollin around in the same car as me. tell him to find his own ride. be original. but then again it would also be alright if he went out and bought one. i dont know what to tell u. as long as he dont go get a way nicer one, then u would prolly be a little jealous.

i can't say I agree. in the entire AF forum, all of you guys already earned half of my respect just for driving 300ZX. so I am not the type to be jealous for someone else owning a "better" ZX, so to speak. most of you have twin turbos, but I have the non-turbo version, doesn't bother me.

I dont think its bad for you both to have to Zs or not. As long as he gets something cool so you guys look tight when you go cruzin :)

i have actually been trying to talk him into lately, i will show him this thread and sees if he wants to get one. he gave me a link last night on msn to a car he is looking at and it is a dark green 300zx with 80k miles.

Interesting that you bring this up, I've been into cars for as long as i can remember, even though no one in my family is. And I plan on purchasing a Z when funds permit. And my best friend of six years, wasn't really into cars. But in the past couple of years I have swayed him into the dark side. And now he wants to got a Z, at first i was like get off my nuts and be original. But now that I thought it over, it wouldn't be that bad I'd help him out with his. Of course I wouldnt give up little secrets, and mine will be faster, haha. But it think its cool, and its just another thing for our friendship.

The rims on the first one are fugly and the rear wide body kit on the second is a bit much. Just my 2 cents........

It's Strosek, and I like the spoiler. It's better than the stock TT spoiler IMO.

before any body flames ferrari adidas for just posting lol, that is my friend who never goes on af so he should be condemned. also he was thinking about a trans am so he also should be condemned just for thinking about it.

he sure has lot of posts to say "never goes on AF", plus I think I saw his posts in the super cars section.

it's really up to him, if he wants straightline V8 power, Trans Am would fit the criteria.

but if he wants an all around car, you can't go wrong with the ZX.

That's all I have to say about this...

he definietly needs some condemning. trans am vs. z. especially z32. well the way i see it. z is BETTER. and also i donmt know about where u live but where i live. i have seen a total of 2 z32's and about 5 z31's. trans am's, i cant go 4 blocks without seeing one. people dont even look twice at a trans am. i have had people ask me if that was a lamborgini. and i say " obviously u missed the nissan on the front bumper and rear deck, or the 300zx sign in the middle of my taillights. and then i say very slighly. "yes it is a lamorghini. "

well, i asked him what does HE want, and he said trans am or z28. i didn't talk to him for the rest of the night. another reason i don't like f-bodies is they aren't as fun to mod as a z is, any japanese car at that. i don't even want to cruise around with him but i will have to. i just can't believe he wants one of those piece of crap cars.

If thats really what he wants then what's wrong with it? They can be beasts with a few mods. LT1s and LS1s are great motors. Sure he wont be able to take it through the twisties and handle great, but it doesnt matter if he doesnt want to use it for that. Is it a peice of crap because you see them everywhere? Yeah i know that sucks and i wouldnt want to be in a car that u see all the time but because its popular doesnt mean it sucks.

yes, the last generation of f-body (whatever that is). i don't like them because i don't like the muscle thing. how the look all big and everything and they have to have a big engine to make lots of power. and plus, yes, they are too common.
