I'm wanting to remove my cat. and wondered if there is a resistor that would fool the o2 sensor. I've got a 94 dodge 1500 5.2L 318 engine. All replys appreiciated.

Yep.
use a 100K resistor across the post cat O2. Will show the ECM a difference, and that's all you need. no harm, no foul. No idiot lights.

How does this work? I've never heard of this. It sounds like this could come in handy for me...

5.2 liter 2000 pickup...sorry it took so long to respong about that o2 resistor i tried that on my firebird awhile back but with the intake to tell it the air was always cold didnt see any differance and the service engine light came on

The sensor takes readings based on how much oxygen is present in the exhaust, not by how cold it is.

What we found out was that the newer O2 sensors read 02 in the exhaust and heat. Not positive about the heat part but what we did works... After removing the cat and putting the 3" pipes off a diesel in we welded the mount for the rear 02 sensor on the outside of the pipe so the sensor is outside of the exhaust but still close enough to pick up the heat, enclosed it to keepmud out of it and ran it.. No codes runs great sounds great... The trouble we had with the resistor is there are 4 wires (01 1500) so we were not sure which ones to tie into... Get 18mpg and plenty of power after 100K on it...

That actually sounds like a good idea. I had never thought of that. Thanks for sharing it...
