i recently put volk te-37 18x7.5's on my 91' 240. the stock suspension assembly on the front driver side rubs the edge of my tire. its already made a small groove in it. i was looking for a way to fix this w/o having to drop a small fortune on coilovers. i looked into spacers but since its also rubbing on the top, that wont help me. any advice would be great, thanks.

get smaller wheels, or get spacers and remove the wheel well lining out.

You probably got the wrong offset. You can deffinately fit them without rubbing, I've seen it. Coilovers will not fix this problem. Try spacers.

What is your tire size?

i cant just exchange them for smaller rims. and ive already had 17's on it. they look like crap. the lining isnt the problem. the part that the spring sits in is too wide. like a small dinner plate kind of wide. that is what rubs the tires.

forgot to put this in (18x7.5 rims = 225/40/18, 88w tires)

you probably need 35 profile

coilovers wouldn't help. in fact they usually take up more space and make it harder to fit bigger tires.

Get a lower profile Tire like he said above

225/40/18 is too big (as said above). get 35 or 30.

is that the only solution? i spent 650$ on those 4 tires and they have about a mile on them......this sucks

try rolling your fenders before you go out and buy new tires, its pretty easy to do, just need a little hammer, blow torch, and maybe a baseball bat.

why didn't you research before buying them? that's your fault.

I know what you are talking about, the bottom seat for the coil springs. I know that thing is too big. I don't think you can chande that without buying new coil overs. the stock unit prevents large wheels. sorry, I don't see a way around it except for coilovers.

What the perfect or max rim with tires size to fit in the S13?

I dont know if it's the same for a s13 as it is for the s14, butI saw an s14 with 295/35/18's on the back and I think 245/35/18's in the front. I thought the 295's were overkill, until I went for a ride and he was breaking them lose in second gear. Man that car was fast, he had a s15 sr20det w/ a 6-speed.

Hello,

If your tires are rubbing the strut spring seat then you need to move the wheels/tires outboard. Wheel spacers sound like the way to go.

Also, if you're going to use spacers, make sure you don't run out of room on the bolt, if you need longer bolts, I know you can get them, I dunno if it's Nismo or Nissan, but they probably have them at the dealer.

Most people with any spacers bigger then 5mm or 1/4" go with longer studs. H&R Spacers come with studs. H&R's are pricey but about the best.
