I'm not an Acura/Honda expert, so I'll ask just in case. Does anybody have an idea why my friends' '92 Acura Integra LS, auto tranny, 155k miles, won't upshift into 4th gear? The car revs too hard on the highway, and it feels like it's straining just to do 70mph.

It may seem like a stupid question, but I'm fishing for, hopefully, somebody else who had this exact same problem with the exact same car. I'm really asking because I don't know these cars and don't know if this is a __relatively__ common problem with these Integras... because every model of every manufacturer is going to have certain relatively common problems (i.e. Ford Tauruses and head gaskets).

I know this much: the car also has a broken (completely severed) front motor mount, which causes excessive vibrations.

Not sure, just guessin from what i've heard in da' past.

Might want ta' chek out his Catilytic (however u spell it) converter. If its busted up from speed bumps or somin, and all the inner wall shit fell off, then that could be the problem. My grandmothers older Ford Taurus had that problem, and couldnt do more than bout 50 mph, she needed a new catylitic converter..

Might want ta' chek that out and also get a second opinion tho. Hope i helped a lil - :icon16:
